In case you haven't read the About Me section, allow me to give you a brief overview and provide more details on what you can anticipate from my blog and collaborating with me.

Having always dreamed of becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, I rediscovered my passion for nutrition and healthy aging while working in marketing and PR in Corporate America. This rediscovery occurred during my time as a Community Relations Coordinator in Tucson, AZ. I observed that the main problem in organizations dealing with hunger, homelessness, and social justice was the insufficient awareness or accessibility of healthy lifestyle choices. From there I pursed my Masters of Science in Dietetics, finishing my clinical internship in St. Louis, MO with Logan University. I chose this education opportunity as the curriculum aligned with my belief that healthy aging must be rooted in a holistic and integrative manner.

Working with clients in hospitals, outpatient consulting, and community nutrition programs from St. Louis to Hampton Roads, VA, I have discovered that promoting healthy aging involves reducing chronic diseases that are linked to inflammation.


What causes inflammation?


Chronic disease onset, which hinders healthy aging, is influenced by various factors such as genetics, environment, and lifestyle. While genetics and some aspects of our environment may not be changeable, lifestyle behaviors are modifiable. Taking a comprehensive approach that addresses nutrition, physical activity, sleep quality, and stress management is crucial. These four pillars, akin to the legs of a chair, support successful aging. If one pillar weakens, the balance is disrupted. By following this blog and collaborating with me, individuals can incorporate tips into their daily routines to reduce inflammatory factors and prevent or minimize chronic disease.
